If you are struggling with confusion, distress, anxiety or anger, whether it relates to a relationship problem, an issue with self-esteem or confidence, a health concern, bereavement and loss or any other related issue please get in touch.
The first step really is the hardest one to take. After that, along with myself, you do have to do the work, but the rewards are immense. I offer a ‘down to earth’ but warm and understanding approach in a safe space that will put you at your ease immediately.
If you are interested in finding out whether we could work together, please get in touch and we can discuss what will work best for you.
Hello, I’m Sue Spencer
I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) Registered therapist and abide by their Code of Ethics which you can view at bacp.co.uk.
I have full personal indemnity and public liability insurance.
I gained my post-graduate Diploma in Counselling from Manchester Metropolitan University. I was then a lecturer in further education teaching communication, counselling skills and personal development.
I have worked as a counsellor/therapist for over twenty years with adult students and young people in education, in a doctors’ practice in the NHS and with clients in private practice both in England and France, where I lived for six years.
I also work as a coach and personal development teacher.
My passion is personal growth through self-awareness and creative expression.
My own life has been many ‘lives’, so I am familiar with change. At the age of forty-eight I took a year out to backpack round the world. It was exciting, challenging, fulfilling, sometimes lonely and scary, but it was my choice. Other changes just happened to me … as they do.
So I believe I understand what is involved in facing and attempting to embrace the unfamiliar and its accompanying emotions, in a way that allows each of us to blossom and grow.
I would love to work alongside you in this way.
